The Rollerblade Maxxum XT Skates are great for urban skating. They have durable and responsive molded plastic shells one would expect with an urban skate, but unlike Rollerblade's pure-play urban Twister boot, the Maxxum has a more relaxed fit with some (not a lot) cutouts for ventilation. This brings more versatility in that they now can now also serve well for more fitness and cross-training related activity.
 
Modified hard boots are lightweight, vented, durable, and give extra lateral support. Inside the box are footboard sizers. Placing under the footbed inside the liner allows for size adjustment from half to full size. This ensures proper fit and makes it easier to get the correct size.  Or, if having two different sized feet like me, you can use in one skate and not the other. The Maxxum Skates are a popular choice with Rollerblade's "Skate to Ski" program, which helps skiers stay in shape by skating during the off-season.  Skate Liner Plus Liners (removable) with Performance Insoles feel excellent. They have an anatomical fit, perforated mesh in the forefoot for breathability, and lycra in the toe area for added comfort.  The tongue has a hard piece facing toward the laces. Referred to as the Comfort Flex Tongue, it is reinforced with wings and median bars. It not only prevents from feeling any lace bite, but wraps around the shin for improved flex, fit and control. For closures, micro-adjustable buckles are used at both the cuff and 45-degree power strap positions. Underneath are extruded aluminum frames (removable - adjustable) that provide strength for more efficient energy transfer, and Rollerblade Supreme 90mm 85A Wheels with TwinCam ILQ7-Plus Bearing (brake attached).
